Courtesy of a link at Fair Game, a simple Proppian fairytale generator. I’ve been thinking about joining things like this, the Abulafia generator, and IF in some way.

You might want to take a look at my RPG-attempt Stalin’s Story. It too is based on Propp. (Though I don’t see a way to adapt it to IF, since it is all about social interaction.)

What if each story card was a puzzle, and your relationship to the other NPCs changed based on how the conditions of each puzzle was fulfilled? You as the player also have story cards to play. I don’t think the player could play Stalin and make the game work though!

You’re right that performance in IF seems exceedingly difficult to pull off (I remember a thread from Intfiction that touched on this) but it’s something I’ve been digging into — without much to show for it so far, I admit.

Did you manage to play this game after the contest? I read a little back and forth on the Forge but didn’t see much else out there. Come to think of it this might be a fun IF comp — make a game based on a Ronnies or Game Chef game!
